Folios 419-420: William H Webley, HMS Savage, Walmer Roads.
States that he encloses, but it is missing, an account of the Perpetual Log fitted on board HMS Savage. Reports that the other contrivance was defective in that when the lower cistern was full of water the float would not rise.
