Folios 331-332: Thomas Wolley, HMS Arethusa, Portsmouth Harbour. Advising that his third lieutenant, Frederick William Burgoyne, has been in sick quarters for 6 weeks and is unlikely to recover in time for the ship's sailing. Asks that another be appointed, and suggests Thomas Bright, who has been Acting lieutenant on the Arethusa by command of Admiral Harvey, and also on the Naiad by command of Lord Bridport, and is currently a midshipman on the Royal George. He has passed his examination for lieutenant and his conduct in all situations has been considered praiseworthy.
