Folios 327-328: Thomas Wolley, HMS Arethusa, Portsmouth Harbour. Further to his letter regarding the discontent at Marcon, occasioned by the Admiralty having claimed prizes taken by HMSS Badger and Sandfly under the rationale that the island was a garrison. Plus the expenses incurred by the captors in objecting to this claim. He has received from their Lordships, the copy of Mr Gostling's letter, which throws doubt on his information. However, he points out it was actually this gentleman who acted as proxy for their Lordships, and who urged the claim that the island was a garrison, not gunboats, as had originally induced the judge to award the prizes to the captors.
