Folios 309-310: Isaac Wolley, HMS Nonsuch. Letter enclosing a report on Lieutenant John Bassett, third lieutenant of the Nonsuch, who has been sent to quarters at Hull. Wolley says the man has been long afflicted with the 'stranguary', which makes him much affected by cold and wet conditions, unfit for service afloat. Therefore asks that he might be given employment on shore, and that a lieutenant should be sent in his place for the Nonsuch.
Folios 311-312: enclosure with folios 309-310. Gives two statements, the first is by John Kirkman, the surgeon on the Nonsuch, and his mate Helms, as well as Robert Durskin, the agent, that they have examined Bassett and find him much afflicted and their opinion is he should be sent to sick quarters. The second is Captain Wolley's directive, asking the surgeon, his mate, and the agent, to examine Bassett and give their opinion of his state.
