Folios 285-286: Isaac Wolley, HMS Nonsuch. Again finds it necessary to enclose a letter for their Lordships' consideration, from the magistrate at Lincoln respecting the two marines taken up as stragglers from the Nonsuch. Says he assumes they would not wish him to send any of his officers or men so great a distance, when the men in question could so easily be returned by the Civil Power or a Guard from Lincoln. Folio 287: enclosure with folios 285-286. From John Parsons to Captain Wolley, 18 October 1799, saying he has received the Admiralty request to return the two deserters, William Hill and Francis North, but has no naval officers near at hand who could accompany them so asks Wolley to send his own. Adds a PS saying that at the time the men were apprehended they were not wearing their 'regimentals', but confessed they had left them in a plantation not far from Lincoln, and they have subsequently been recovered.
