Folios 232-233: Isaac Wolley, HMS Nonsuch. Advising that three men have deserted from the Nancy tender, Richard Flegg master, while in Sheerness harbour. They were sent sent with others on 27 March on the Nancy, to join HMS Zealand at the Nore, but storms drove them into harbour. He says the master has told him the men escaped with the connivance of Mark Howard, one of the gang at Lynn, and he has therefore detained Howard on the Nonsuch. The deserters are: John Box, able seaman, aged about 30; Mark Sharp, ordinary seaman, aged 28; William Johnson, able seaman, aged 25, alias William Patterson, Palmer, or Pindar.
