Folios 216-217: Isaac Wolley, HMS Nonsuch, Senior Officer in the River Humber. Enclosing a letter from and report of survey on Lieutenant John Linton, 4th lieutenant on the Nonsuch, who has suffered a 'paralytic stroke' and lost the use of one side of his body so that it is unsafe for him to be on board a ship as he is constantly falling. Also his speech has been badly affected and shows little sign of recovery after a long period. Asks that a new officer be appointed. Folios 218-219: enclosure with folios 216-217. A request from Captain Wolley for the surgeons of the Nonsuch, the Redoubt, the Termagant and the Selby, or 3 of them at least, to carry out a survey of Linton, saying his complaint renders him unfit to do his duty. Folios 220-221: enclosure with folios 216-217. Letter to Captain Wolley of 1 January 1799, signed by John Linton himself, asking to be sent ashore for that reason.
