Folios 395-396: Charles White, HMS Vestal, Humber. Reports he sailed from the Humber on 30 May 1799 with the Baltic Fleet consisting of 72 sail attended by HMS Narcissus and arrived safely at Elsinore on 7 June 1799. on 20 June 1799 I sailed fro Elsinore with 103 sail of merchant vessels homeward bound accompanied by HMS's Nemesis, Pomona, Narcissus and Manly. On 23 June 1799 we meet a gale which obliged us to put into Eastrice, Norway. On 29 June 1799 the wind changed and we set sail fro England. On 4 July 1799 HMS Pomona parted company with those vessels bound to the Northward, on the same day HMS Nemesis separated taking those vessels southward. Enclosed [Inc.] copies of orders given to Joseph Eyles, HMS Pomona and Lieutenant Tomlinson, HMS Narcissus, likewise a Journal of my proceedings, Weekly account and list of Convoy Out and Home [Not Inc.]. Arrived in the Humber today with the Hull ships after having seen those bound to Newcastle, Whitby, Stockton and Scarborough in safely.
