Description

Folios 237-242. A letter from [the Earl of] Buckingham to Viscount Weymouth concerning succession in 68th Foot, and whether there is not anybody more senior available than his recommendation of Lieutenant John Simon Farley to succeed Captain Ronald Mackenzie. Dated at Dublin Castle. Enclosing: Folios 239-240: Letter from Lieutenant Colonel Law [Lawrence] Reynold, dated at Dublin on 7 November 1778. Enclosing: Folio 241: Mackenzie's memorial seeking to sell his commission. Folio 242: Reynold's recommendation that Farley succeed to the captaincy vacated by Ronald Mackenzie.
