Folios 235-236. A letter from [the Earl of] Buckingham to Viscount Weymouth concerning the commission to succeed Lieutenant Doughty of 32nd Foot [who has been absent without leave since 18 March 1778; see SP 63/461/145, SP 63/461/163, SP 63/461/179, SP 63/461/199, and SP 63/461/221]. Advises that no ensign in the regiment has more than a couple of months seniority, and their request that his recommendation [in favour of Cornet Nicholas Colthurst] be agreed. Dated at Dublin Castle.
