Folios 328-329: Isaac Wolley, HMS Nonsuch. He reports that following the recommendation of Mr Kirkman, the agent to the Sick and Hurt, he has been trying to recruit a surgeon's mate, but with no success. Accordingly he has ordered Mr Arent Holme to act as Surgeon's First Mate until further notice. He gives details of Mr Holm's family background. He is a Dutchman and has served in the past as Surgeon's First Mate on HMS Jupiter. He reports that the Surgeon is very satisfied with him and Mr Holmes wishes to join the Navy. He asks the Admiralty to approve the appontment.
