Folios 285-286: John Wells, HMS Lancaster, Deptford. Advises that Joseph Armes, Carpenter, has applied to be superseded as he is unable to perform his duties due to a wound on his head received on 27 June 1778. Hope that another Carpenter may appointed in his room and that the Admiralty will grant an order to bear the Pensioners from Greenwich Hospital as Supernumeraries on the Ship's Books.
