Folios 193-194: Robert Watson, HMS Isis, the Downs. Gives a detailed report of his passage with the convoy of the East India Company with ships from China, Bengal and Madras and which departed St Helena on 11 December 1796 and arrived in Torbay on 2 February 1796. He has hoped to depart earlier but the crews of the ship were in poor health with some having 60 to 70 men with scurvy. Explains that the Brunswick parted company on the night of 23 January 1797 without any apparent cause other than the Commander was negligent in observing signals during the whole passage. The Three Sisters, the Harriet and the Amalimberg parted company on 26 January 1797 in a severe gale. Expresses particular concern for the Amalimberg which was in bad repair and at one time it was felt prudent to send her to the West Indies but the Commander, Lieutenant Gilchrist, was determined to proceed to Europe.
