Description

This series contains papers relating to the British Air Forces of Occupation (Germany) and the Air Division Allied Commission Austria (British Element). They cover all aspects of operations, administration and disarmament, and include Orders of Battle for 2nd TAF (Tactical Air Force), the wartime precursor of British Air Forces of Occupation (BAFO). A large proportion of the papers derives from the MREUs (Missing Research and Enquiry Units) and Missing Research and Enquiry Service (MRES), relating to their post-war work in Europe.
