Folios 186-187: James Wolley, Acting Captain, [Kings] Lynn. Reply to letter dated 21 March in the case of William Rookes, sent to the Nore on 25 March 1796. Was in appearance older than 21 and as he was indentured in 1787 as 14 and served his master 9 years as a waterman with an appearance above the age described he accepted him as a volunteer.
