Folios 284-285: John Woodley, HMS Leda, Spithead. Reports that he has received orders for Sir Peter Parker to take charge of the Transport and other vessels bound for the Downs but that he has been unable to embark due to the unfavourable wind from the North East. Advises that he has made representations to Admiral Sir Peter Parker regarding the state of the crew of HMS Leda who are suffering due to the sudden change of climate and the unusual severity of the climate, having spent almost two years in a hot country. As a result there are now 60 on the sick list and many more in a weak state. Believes that a cruise in the North Sea now will completely disable the ship's company for some time. States that the illness is not infectious and the men will recover with milder weather. The Surgeon of HMS Leda has also made official application to him regarding the crew's health.
