Description

Folios 243-244: Isaac Wolley, Regulating Captain, York. Advises that he has given Notice to the Justices of the different Districts who have not completed their quota, or where fines have been paid, to provide substitutes. States no men have been enrolled or approved since his letter of 19 May 1795.

Folios 245-246: enclosure with folios 243-244. Letter dated 12 May 1795 by Isaac Wolley, Regulating Captain York, to the Admiralty. Reports that no men have been enrolled or approved since his letter of 5 May 1795 and advises that he has sent out a list to the different Captains in the county to try to find out how many men are still required in the different districts. States that Captain Ramsay of East Riding has reported all men enrolled but one in lieu of William Parker. The North Riding is also complete. A copy of the update on John Wreggs by the Churchwarden has been forwarded.

Folios 247-248: enclosure with folios 243-244. Letter dated 2 June 1795 by Isaac Wolley, Regulating Captain York, to the Admiralty. Reports that he has not approved or enrolled a man since his letter of 26 May 1795 nor any substitutes sent in consequence of his letters to the Justices of different Districts. Confirms he will look out for William Harrison, deserter from HMS Edgar. No information has been received on the deserters from York who have been advertised in all the York papers.

Folios 249-250: enclosure with folios 243-244. Letter dated 12 May 1795 by Isaac Wolley, Regulating Captain, York, to the Admiralty. Acknowledges receipt of Orders with the Act of Parliament empowering Justices in several counties to levy Idle and Disorderly Persons for service in the Navy.

Folios 251-252: enclosure with folios 243-244. Letter dated 6 June 1795 by Isaac Wolley, Regulating Captain, York, to the Admiralty. Acknowledges receipt of Orders appointing him as Regulating Captain at Lynn where he will proceed immediately leaving Lieutenant Hanmer in charge at York.

Folios 253-254: folios not used.
