Folios 220-225. Folios 220-221: Letter from Lord Harcourt to Lord Weymouth enclosing a list of successions from the Commander in Chief. Dated at Dublin Castle. Enclosing: Folios 222-225. List of successions in the army in Ireland. 13th Dragoons (Douglas's): Lieutenant and Adjutant Francis Campbell (service history given) prays leave to retire at the regulated price because of age, ill health and inability to discharge his duty; eldest cornet Richard Lloyd to be lieutenant; Mr James Hackett to be cornet; Quarter Master Christopher Picard to be adjutant having at the instance of the Commanding Officer disposed of his warrant in order to purchase the adjutancy and has acted as such for some time with great attention and ability. 14th Dragoons (Warde's): Captain Simon Pepper, who purchased all his commissions, 'having private affairs of great consequence to attend' prays leave to retire at the regulated price; Captain Lieutenant Otway Toler to be captain; Lieutenant the Honourable John Cunninghame, who is the eldest in that rank willing to purchase, to be captain-lieutenant; Cornet John Blakeney, eldest in that rank willing to purchase, to be lieutenant; Mr George Harwood to be cornet; Cornet Ross Lewin prays leave to dispose of his commission, which he purchased, at the regulated price; Mr Henry Bambrick to be cornet; Lieutenant Jonas Patterson 'finding it will be of consequence to him to go into the Foot Service' prays leave to exchange with Lieutenant Nicholas Power French of the 37th Foot; Lieutenant Nicholas Power French to be lieutenant. 11th Foot (A'Court Ashes): Ensign Arthur Payne being promoted by purchase, Mr John Bridge to be ensign. 32nd Foot (Amherst's): Lieutenant Andrew Robinson being promoted in the Foot Guards by purchase, Ensign John Rigg to be lieutenant and Mr Lane to be ensign. 36th Foot (Pierson's): Lieutenant Richard Kearney having agreed for the purchase of the commission of the Town Major of Galway prays leave to dispose of his lieutenancy, which he purchased, at the regulated price, eldest ensign Archibald Campbell to be lieutenant and Mr Andrew Cowen to be ensign; Ensign Thomas Baker, having purchased an ensigncy in the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards, prays leave to dispose of his commission, which he purchased, at the regulated price, eldest ensign Robert Ness to be lieutenant and Mr Alexander Lynch to be ensign; Ensign William Byam being promoted by purchase Mr Luke Dillon to be ensign. Staff: Robert Keily Esquire Town Major of Galway prays leave to dispose of his commission which he purchased, Lieutenant Richard Kearney to be Town Major.
