Folios 245-246. Letter from Lord Viscount Weymouth to the Earl of Buckingham referring to the latter's letter of 25 May 1778 and relaying the King's consent to the successions proposed for the 19th and 36th Regiments of Foot. With regards to the succession proposed to Captain Sir Robert Stewart in the 30th Regiment of Foot, the King considers it would be too apparent a preference to permit Lieutenant Hobart to pass over the Heads of the Captain Lieutenant and nine Lieutenants. Dated at St James's.
