Folios 246-247: James Hawkins-Whitshed, HMS Arrogant, cawsand Bay. Replying to Admiralty letter of 23 June which enclosed a letter from Mr James Mansy, Consul to the United States of America for Liverpool, with regard to a John Cornwell [?] said to be onboard HMS Arrogant. Having thoroughly reviewed the books of the Arrogant cannot find anyone of that name or description.
