Folios 224-225: John Whitby, HMS Excellent, Spithead. Requests the discharge of Able Seaman - William Smith, Cornelius [?] Driscoll, William Gibson and Phil Rennove and Ordinary Seaman - John Manley, Michael Shean, Richard Warne and Peter Robertson. They were on HMS Stately and appear to be also been on Placentia and Trepassey Cutters in Newfoundland.
Folios 226-227: enclosure with folios 224-225. Letter dated 11 June 1794 by the Admiralty to Captain Whitby . Replying to Captain Whitby's 8 June 1794 letter states that the eight men are to remain on the Excellent as the Placentia and Trepassey will be put out of commission and sold.
