Folios 160-161: Thomas West, HMS Alexander, Nore. At the request of Lieutenant Williams of the Marines forwarding enclosed document to Admiralty.
Folios 162-163: enclosure with folios 160-161. Letter dated 6 February 1794 by Samuel Williams, 1st Lieutenant Marines, HMS Alexander. The detachment under his command were discharged without delay (as requested by Admiralty) from HMS Phoenix and as a result they are without pay lists. Sir Richard Strachan has asked him to inform Admiralty that they cannot receive pay nor"subsistence" at quarters until pay lists are forwarded. Requests necessary instructions are given before the Phoenix is paid off.
