Folios 198-199: Thomas Williams, HMS Lizard, Spithead. Reports that when he arrived at the Downs to take in convoy the Trade Ships from Oporto to Portsmouth, he found that the Oporto had already sailed under the Protection of an armed ship. After waiting twenty four hours for any further Trade ships, advised by Vice Admiral Joseph Peyton to return to Spithead for further Orders.
