Folios 237-238: Francis Vesey, Garrison, Sheerness. Reports that having paid off HMS Meteor yesterday at Great Nore. David Thornton complained of his rating; his being rated Ordinary Seaman but having 12 years at Sea and being able to Hand, Reef?, Steer and Man? the Lead. Finding this mans statement confirmed by two officers and the Captain stating he is of good character. Request this be considered.
