Folios 233-234: James Valobra, HMS Confounder, Deptford. States that George Wilberforce, Quartermaster on HMS Confounder having leave to go on shore at Malta on 27 September 1812 and having become intoxicated and then decoyed on board a Merchant Vessel and taken to Sea, which occasioned him being Run on the Ships Book. At his first opportunity gave himself up as belonging to HMS Confounder. Request the R be removed from him as he has much pay due him and had no intention of deserting.
