Folios 229-230: James Valobra, HMS Confounder, Spithead. Covering letter for the enclosed [Inc.] order from Rear Admiral John Laugharne, which with a tedious Quarantine, required nearly a month. Request the usual remuneration.
Folios 231-232: enclosure with folios 229-230. Orders dated 18 January 1812 by Rear Admiral John Laugharne, HMS Trident, at Malta. Orders to proceed to Tripoli and receive on board Mr Patrick Wilkie to act as Pro Consul during the absence of Mr Longford, who is about to return to England. (Whom, with his retinue, you are to victual them during the passage) proceed with such trade as may be ready to accompany you to Tripoli, in the West, you are to receive on board Mr Longford, His Majesty's Consul, and Suite and return with them and any Trade to Malta including victualling them.
