Description

Folios 177-178: Clotworthy Upton, HMS Junon, Quebec. Reports His Excellency the Governor and Commander of the Forces having required that a small Transport be provided for the purpose of conveying his dispatches, I judged it my duty as Senior Officer now in the Saint Lawrence, to avail myself of the same occasion, to detail to you the events which have occurred since my arrival here on the 27 August 1814. By the Steam Boat which went to Montreal this morning I have caused to be forwarded the reinforcements which Rear Admiral Robert Waller Otway had allotted for service on Lake Champlain together with those which in obedience to Rear Admiral Anselm John Griffiths order, I have allotted to serve on Lake Ontario from this ship as well as those whom Captain Kempt, Agent for Transports, had procured from ships under his directions. [Follows details of events and movements, mentions] - Sir James Lucas Yeo Knt., Captain Arthur Philip Hamilton - HMS Ceylon, Colonel Williams and Staff of the 1st Battalion Royal Marines from Montreal, HMS Penelope, the Telegraph Station at Brandy Potts.
