Description

Folios 256-257: Henry Vansittart, HMS La Magicienne, Chatham. He encloses a report on the state of the ships presently in Chatham and a letter from Lieutenant Rodney.

Folios 258-259: enclosure with folios 256-257. Letter dated 17 December 1802 by Lieutenant Edward Rodney, HMS Magicienne, Chatham. HMS La Magicienne is to be paid off and together with her other officers he has been ordered to join HMS Fortunee. He says he is unable to take up the appointment on HMS Fortunee for personal reasons.
