Folios 236-237: Sir Edward Thomas Troubridge, 12 Lower Seymour Street, Portman Square, London. Replying to an Admiralty letter of 19 May 1815 in which their Lordships have signified their displeasure at his conduct, and refers them to his earlier letter in which he explained the circumstances which led to the number of absentees from HMS Armide, stating they are facts and that the men deserted as no vessels were available to take them to the Nore. Explains why he has not disobeyed Port Orders, as Sir Charles Rowley, Rear Admiral, states, and also clarifies the directions he received to request tenders and that he had not intended to imply the lack of tenders was due to Sir Charles Rowley, Rear Admiral.
