Folios 410-411: Nicholas Tomlinson, Witham, Essex. He understands from Mr Barrows letter of the 30 November 1814 that his son James W Tomlinson will be considered as a candidate for the first vacancy at the Royal Naval College, he having lost the opportunity of being examined last Thursday last, on account of the Certificate of his age being accidentally mislaid at the Admiralty, he also understands that there will be another vacancy in a few days. Requests an order be issued to examine his son as soon as that vacancy occurs.
