Description

Folios 390-391: George Truscott, HMS Havock, Little Nore. Reference his letter dated 1 August 1814 concerning the mode of sweeping any Ship of War in Calm or Light air. Reports that the part of the machinery that had been left in Hull has been recast and that in can now be inspected.

Folio 392: enclosure with folios 390-391. Proforma:- Document to be sent to the Paper Office when any Paper is sent away in original:- 22 October 1814, Captain Truscott of HMS Havoc, His invention for Sweeping Ships in Calms or Light airs, 26 October 1814, Sir Thomas Williams to take certain Naval Officers to his assistance to inspect and report on the invention. [Also numbered Cap T187]
