Folios 229-230: Joseph Turner, Gosport. Reports that Samuel Kirkby, Second Mate of the Transport Admiral Gambier, was taken by Lieutenant Edward Garrett from a wherry in Portsmouth Harbour.
Folios 231-232: enclosed with folios 229-230. Letter dated 10 September 1813 by R. Rutson, 1 Wellclose Square, London. Petitions on behalf of Samuel Kirkby who is willing to pay the stipulated sum of money to ensure his release.
Folios 233-234: enclosed with folios 229-230. Petition dated 9 September 1813 by Samuel Kirkby states that as 2nd Mate of the transport Admiral Gambier he has been in government service and is soon expected to sail with the vessel to Spain.
