Folios 160-161: Joseph Turner, Gosport. Returning some papers sent with Admiralty letter of April 29, as well as Lt Nepean's report on the case of Edward Hutchinson, now aboard the Royal William after being impressed. He says he had not felt confident in liberating the man without further orders, as the indenture papers did not give him such a clear view of the case as has since appeared.
Folios 162-163: enclosure with folios 160-161. Nepean's letter gives an account of how Hutchinson was taken out of the Hazard, paid-off transport, on 27 April, the man having been at sea for five years. He had only been bound for six years and Nepean says it is customary to press a man in the final year of his service.
Folios 164-166: enclosure with folios 160-161. Letter signed by R. Hart at 69 St Thomas's Street, Portsmouth and dated 28 April 1812. Enclosing indentures of apprenticeship for Edward Hutchinson, son of Thomas Hutchinson, [papers not now present], together with an affidavit [folio 165] from Nehemiah Blagdon, master, to the effect that Hutchinson was a bona fide apprentice, from 13 February 1807, for six years.
