Folios 82-83: James Townshend, HMS Aeolus, Halifax Harbour. Covering letter for a letter [Inc.] from Sir George Prévost Bart stating that no opportunity for merchants to correspond with England since HMS Fantome in February 1811. Reports he has directed Lieutenant George G Miall of HMS Vesta to proceed with the mail to Falmouth as per Rear Admiral Herbert Sawyer's orders. Reports that HMS Cleopatra sails from Halifax to New Brunswick on the 1st June 1811 and from there to England with a convoy on 10 June 1811. Also enclosed State and Condition report on the Ships of War at Halifax, a return on the Prisoners in Melville Island Prison and a state of the sick in the Naval Hospital [all 3 Inc.].
Folios 84-85: enclosure with folios 82-83. Sir George Prévost, Government House, Halifax. Dated 22 May 1811. Report that the merchants of Halifax have requested a vessel to take Mail to England.
