Folios 307-308: William Henry Brown Tremlett, 163 Aldersgate Street, London. Request for pension petition to be reconsidered after being rejected on the grounds that he had since taken part in active service. Explains he had a grapeshot weighing 8 ounce enter his foot and this was removed by surgeons two and a half years later. He cannot afford to cease his naval service as he only has his pay and now has the expense of having a horse out of necessity. Cites various other cases as precedence, Captain Boyce, Captain M? and Captain Sir Michael Seymour and there are others in similar circumstances who are in receipt of a pension. Also compares his to the case of Captain Southern who was instructing his men in Castanet Bay. He lost part of his hand when in training a man in the use of powderhorn when it blew up in his hand, whereas Captain Tremlett was training and exercising men in the defence of their country.
Folio 309: enclosure with folios 307-308. Request to lay before the Admiralty his papers requesting reconsideration of his pension request.
