Description

Folios 272-273: Robert Brown Tom, HMS Gorgon, Great Nore. Reports as per Orders from Sir R G Keats, HMS Gorgan and a convoy of 70 ships sailed from Gothenburg on 21 March 1809. On board were casks and bags containing 178,727 dollars for the King of Sweden and this day arrived at the Nore. Some of the convoy were dispersed in the gale of the 26th and 27th and have not yet arrived, however Part of the convoy under Aalbrog cutter of 10 guns, Lieutenant Banks, Prize HMS Equia?, and victuallers have arrived.
