Folios 237-238: Nicholas Tomlinson, Flushing, Walcheren. Reports his exclusion from sitting as a Member on a court martial, Captain Lawford was the President and requests adjudication by the Admiralty on whether he should have sat or not.
Folios 239-240: enclosure with folios 237-238. Devon and Tooke, 10 Grays Inn Square, 22 November 1809. Encloses a letter from Captain Nicholas Tomlinson and associated papers on the case and requests a response is sent to their Chambers.
Folios 241: enclosure with folios 237-238. Admiralty Records Office slip noting the return to the Solicitor of Captain Nicholas Tomlinson's request to sit as a member of a court martial on 23 November 1809.

Outlines the case for Captain Nicholas Tomlinson not sitting as a Member on a court martial and whether the result of the court martial is legal without his input on the case.
