Folios 228-229: Charles Tinling, Southwold. Response to a request to report on the case of Francis Stevens, who is complaining about Lieutenant Turnon and an incident two years previously in 1807. He had originally been discharged for the tyrannical treatment of John Moore and been given a second chance to work under the supervision of Lieutenant Turnon, but again was discharged as a result of his conduct. Encloses a letter from Lieutenant Austin Ternon outlining the problems he was experiencing with Francis Stevens and various other orders and letters from Francis Stevens in his defence.
Folios 230-231: enclosure with folios 228-229. Letter dated 31 March 1809 by Lieutenant Austin Ternon, HM Signal Station, Easton Cliff to Captain Tinley, Commander Sea-Fencibles. Outlines the problems he was experiencing supervising Frances Stephens.
