Description

Folios 212-213: James Tillard HMS Allart, Harwich. Reports his arrival having seen the remainder of the Convoy collected by Rear-Admiral Sir Richard G Keats safe into Hoseley Bay and into the charge of the Commander of HMS Urgent, as per Order of Commander-in -Chief Sir James Saumarez. Details the various convoys seen during the crossing and provides copies of the Orders given by Sir James Saumarez.

Folio 214: enclosure with folios 212-213. Orders dated 4 June 1809 by Sir James Saumarez, HMS Victory, off Carlscroona [Karlskrona] to James Tillard, HMS Allart, . Copy of Orders to replenish stores and provisions upon arrival at North Yarmouth and to join the Fleet under his command calling off Gottenburgh [Gothernburg] for intelligence.

Folio 215: enclosure with folios 212-213. Orders dated 17 June 1809 by Sir James Saumarez, HMS Victory, off Carlscroona [Karlskrona] to James Tillard, HMS Allart. Orders to cruise off the Scaw between their and Christiansand to protect the Trade and annoy the enemy as well as intercept and destroy any of their armed vessels and privateers until directed otherwise.

Folio 216: enclosure with folios 212-213. Orders dated 25 June 1809 by Sir Richard G Keats, HMS Superb off the Winge, to James Tillard, HMS Allart. Orders to escort HMS Urgent on its way from Gottenbury [Gothenburg] to North Yarmouth and then when safe in Port, Order the Commander of HMS Urgent to accompany the Trade to Nore and then proceed on HMS Allart as directed.
