Folios 480-481: John Child Purvis, HMS Royal George, Torbay. He encloses a certificate of his son's age. He asks where he should be sent in Portsmouth and to whom.
Folio 482: enclosure with folios 480-481. A certificate dated 13 December 1801 repeating the entry in the Baptismal Record of the Parish of Wickham that Richard Fortescue Purvis the son of John Child and Catherine Purvis was born on 2 February 1788.
