Folios 466-467: George Christopher Pulling, HMS Kangaroo, The Downs. He announces his arrival together with a convoy of victuallers sailing from Limerick to London. There were three other vessels to help him in this task. However, HMS Friends and HMS Fox parted company with them off Lands End during the nightof 15 March 1801 during a squall. HMS Fox has just arrived at The Downs. Its possible HMS Friendly will not now arrive. A large fleet of merchant vessels have just arrived from the west but the weather is so bad he doubts he will be able to communicate with them or HMS Fox until it clears. The orders he has received are for HMS Fox to return to Cork and for HMS Kangaroo to go to Spithead in order to be caulked and other defects made good and so he can pay the ship's company their wages.
