Folios 81-82: Sandford Tatham, Greenock. Covering letter enclosing a letter from Hugh Montgomerie, Earl of Eglinton, Lord Lieutenant of Ayrshire. Adds that he believes there are about 100 fishermen in Ayrshire.
Folios 83-84: enclosure with folios 81-82. Letter dated 11 September 1806 by Hugh Montgomerie, Earl of Eglinton, Lord Lieutenant of Ayrshire, Eglinton Castle, to Sanford Tatham. Asks whether penalties will be accepted in lieu of service from the Fishermen and Boatmen, as is allowed by the Militia Act, and, if so, how much.
