Description

Folios 218-219: John Temple, HMS Saint Albans, Hosely Bay. Covering letter for a letter [Inc.] from Captain Hancock of HMS Cruizer stating the case of William Dixon. Also enclose two Impress Warrants [Not Inc.] sent to him of which he states he is not in want.

Folios 220-221: enclosure with folios 218-219. Letter dated 22 February 1805 by John Hancock, HMS Cruizer, Off Ostend. Reply to the direction to state the case of William Dixon. In his previous statement dated 10 September 1804 he stated that William Dixon was discharged from HMS Zealand into HMS Cruizer on 23 July 1804 with a draft of men ordered to complete HMS Cruizer compliment. He ha since entered for HM Service. he returns the enclosures [Inc.] and the two warrants [Not Inc.].

Folios 222-224: enclosure with folios 218-219. Letter [Folio 222] and Petition [Folio 223] from William Struchan of 67 Brook Street, Ratcliffe, Middlesex. Painter and Glazier. States that William Dixon, impressed on HMS Cruizer and at the time he was impressed he was Chief Mate on the Broderick, Thomas Reed Master, employed in bringing coal from Newcastle to London and had done so for 2 years.
