Folios 274-275: George Richard Pechell, HMS Bellette, St John's. Letter containing an item for Rear-Admiral Griffith as there was no opportunity to get to Halifax, and the vessel named in it, now on voyage back to England. Noted 11 Nov with comments.
Folios 276-277: enclosure with folios 274-275. An affidavit dated 2 October 1820 of circumstance to Rear-Admiral Edward Griffith, concerning the ship Virtumnus, of London, detected trading illegally, and a request for Master to show papers was refused. Ship now on voyage back to London.
Folios 278-279: enclosure with folios 274-275. Statement dated 30 September 1820 from John Turnbull, Midshipman HMS Bellette, saying he was ordered by Captain Pechell to board Virtumnus and tell the Master he was required to board the Bellette with papers but he flatly refused.
