Folios 227-228: John Pengelly Parkin, HMS Bacchus, Torbay.
Reporting his arrival at that port, on his return from the East Indies, having been driven past Plymouth by a westerly gale. Sailed from Trincomalee on 15 August, Madras on the 22nd, Cape of Good Hope 23 October, and St Helena 8 November, latterly in company with HMS Conway, who has the St Helena despatches aboard and from whom he was parted by the gale. Parkin has sent their Lordships despatches from Rear Admiral Sir Richard King, and mails from Ceylon and Madras. Admiralty note says to let her come to Deptford and be paid off there.
