Folios 229-230: John Temple, HMS Saint Albans, Horsley Bay. Having received on board large quantities of extreme good Junk for making Wads for the Sea Fencibles. He suggests a modified design of Wads that could save the Navy two thirds of the Junk currently used. A 1000 Wads made with a saving above a thousand weight of Junk saved.
