Folios 298-299: John Temple, HMS St. Albans, Hosely Bay. Robert Hobson does appear to have been Chief Mate of the Albion but Ralph Short and Michael Dixon were only Mates and therefore not exempt from the Impress.
Folios 300-301: enclosure with folios 298-299. Undated petition of George Dewar, Master of the Albion of Newcastle. States that Robert Hobson who was impressed when officers boarded the Albion had been Chief Mate since 28 April and requests his discharge.
Folios 302-303: enclosure with folios 298-299. Undated petition of James Moffatt, Master of the William of the Burthen[?] of Sunderland. States that Ralph Short was Chief mate and anyway ships employed in the Coal trade were protected from the Impress.
Folios 304-305: enclosure with folios 298-299. Undated petition of John Chisman, Master of the Venus of the Burthen of Sunderland. States that Michael Dixon was Chief Mate, that he had all the documents showing this and the Coal Trade is protected from the Impress.
