Folios 291-292: John Temple, HMS St. Albans, Hosely Bay. He has examined the case of Edward Ship, ropemaker. He agrees with the enclosed affidavit and has discharged him.
Folio 293: enclosure with folios 291-292. Affidavit of Alice Corson, mother of Edward Ship. Sworn at the Mansion House, London.,26 August 1803. States that he was impressed despite being Protected and this being shown to the officer.
Folios 294-295: Enclosure with folios 291-292. Letter dated 27 August 1803 by Thomas Ferguson, 3 George Yard, Lombard Street. Encloses the affidavit and Protection and trusts Edward Ship will be discharged.
