Folios 455-456: William James Turquand, HMS Hound, Yarmouth Roads. Advising, as directed by Vice Admiral Sir Archibald Dickson, that on 8 July 1800 he impressed John Smith out of the Molly of Hull, homeward bound Greenland ship, and that David Lloyd, Captain, HMS Hyaena, who, by chance was visiting HMS Hound, recognized him to be a deserter from HMS Nonsuch. From marks on his arms there is reason to believe he was formerly one of the crew of HMS Hermione who escaped from that ship and answered to the name of John Smith, alias John Upperdale. Asks for directions on how to dispose of him.
