Folios 523-524: George Tripp, HMS Nassau, Chatham. Reply to letter dated 25 June 1799 requesting what steps he has taken in apprehending the 11 deserters. As soon as they were missed, Midshipman, Master at Arms and Ship's Corporals were dispatched in search of them through Brompton, Chatham, Rochester and Stroud. Written descriptions, with the reward offered by Government for apprehending deserters, were lodged with the Commanding Officers of the different Regiments and The Marines at Chatham. Thinking that they may have gone to London, the Master at Arms has been sent there with written descriptions and a letter to Captain's Daniel and Wainwright on board HMS Enterprise at the Tower.
